Their objective was to establish a novel franchise steakhouse dining brand while simultaneously rebranding and changing the signage of their existing brand. The key goals were to maintain their current loyal customer base, attract new customers, and expand their market presence. Jpd was entrusted with the development of a comprehensive brand strategy and identity that would position the new brand, Berkan Steakhouse, as the foremost destination for premium steaks and Turkish cuisine.
Our team proposed the brand story "Urban Escape" to convey the concept of an oasis amidst the urban neighbourhood of Barsha Heights. We then explored various name options for the restaurant based on this brand positioning, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean languages and terminology.
After careful consideration, we decided on our restaurant's name, "Ostro". This name is inspired by the warm southerly winds that gracefully sweep across the Mediterranean Sea, creating an atmosphere that allows diners to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Our creative team designed a brandmark alluding to footprints in the sand to complement the name, symbolizing the fleeting yet memorable experience. The circular shape in the brandmark represents the path leading to the Mediterranean oasis.

This approach incorporated light tones across touchpoints while seamlessly incorporating the brand identity.
